- lighting functions;
- central locking behaviour;
- comfort settings;
- instrument cluster options;
- service interval settings;
- infotainment adaptations;
- convenience functions.
Available changes depend on the vehicle equipment and control module software.
Before making any coding or adaptation change:
- save a complete Auto-Scan;
- record the original coding;
- change only settings confirmed for the exact vehicle;
- do not copy coding blindly from another model;
- verify the result before making further changes.
Our VCDS guide for Audi diagnostics and coding explains what the software can do and how it communicates with the vehicle.
Practical coding procedures can also be found in our Audi VCDS tutorials and coding guides.
What This Interface Does Not Do
This diagnostic interface should not be advertised as an engine tuning device.
It does not automatically:
- increase engine power;
- reduce fuel consumption;
- remap an engine ECU;
- perform professional ECU tuning;
- unlock every hidden function;
- support every vehicle manufactured up to 2022;
- replace specialist workshop equipment in every procedure.
Its primary purposes are diagnostics, supported coding, adaptations, service functions and vehicle configuration.
Software Installation
The package includes installation and startup instructions.
General process:
- Install the supplied software on a compatible Windows computer.
- Install the included cable drivers.
- Connect the interface to the computer.
- Connect the interface to the vehicle’s OBD-II diagnostic port.
- Switch on the ignition.
- Open VCDS and test the interface connection.
- Save a complete Auto-Scan before changing any settings.
Use only the software and drivers supplied with this interface. Installing unrelated software or allowing unsupported automatic updates may prevent a clone interface from working correctly.
Safe Use
Before coding or running service functions:
- connect the vehicle to a stable battery charger when appropriate;
- save the original coding and scan report;
- confirm that the procedure applies to the exact vehicle;
- avoid changing undocumented values;
- do not disconnect the interface while a coding operation is being saved;
- do not perform security or immobilizer procedures without the required knowledge.
Incorrect coding can disable vehicle functions or generate additional fault codes.
