These functions require the appropriate factory hardware, USB configuration, coding and valid activation rights. If smartphone integration is already active, it should be checked again after the firmware update.

Firmware alone cannot add missing USB hardware or replace absent licenses.

Navigation maps

Navigation maps are separate from the MHS2 operating firmware.

Installing P2037 does not automatically update the North American navigation database. Map compatibility and licensing must be checked separately using the complete MMI version, installed region and current navigation database.

Do not copy firmware and navigation map files onto the same update media unless the supplied instructions explicitly require it.

Prepared SD card

The firmware files are prepared on an SD card and shipped to the delivery address entered with the order.

A prepared SD card does not mean the firmware installs automatically after inserting it. The update must still be started through the correct MMI update menu.

Installation

Read the instructions supplied with the product and our general Audi MMI update preparation guide before beginning.

Do not use the MHI2/MHI2Q installation guide as the primary instruction for this product. MHS2 is a different system family and its supplied procedure must take priority.

During installation:

• maintain a stable electrical supply;
• use correctly prepared update media;
• do not remove the SD card;
• do not switch off the vehicle unexpectedly;
• do not interrupt the update;
• allow the MMI to restart when required;
• verify the final installed software version.

If the update menu displays a compatibility or train error, stop and verify the complete firmware designation. Do not attempt random packages or force an update intended for another MIB family.

Sound-system precautions

If the vehicle has an external premium sound system, verify the supplied component-selection instructions before starting.

Do not update amplifier software or datasets unless the package and procedure explicitly require it. Incorrect amplifier data can result in missing sound, distorted audio or lost configuration.
