Compatible MMI system

This package is intended exclusively for Audi MMI 3G High systems with a software train beginning with:

It is not compatible with MMI 3G Basic, MMI 3G Plus, RMC, MIB1, MIB2, MHI2, MHI3 or MH2p systems.

HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1 firmware

The bundle includes HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1, the latest available European firmware for the Audi MMI 3G High HNav system.

The firmware must be installed before updating the navigation maps when the vehicle is running an older software version.

Follow the Audi MMI 3G firmware update instructions carefully. Do not interrupt the installation or switch off the MMI while the firmware is being updated.

If the vehicle is equipped with a Bose sound system, follow the Bose-specific instructions included in the firmware guide and package. Incorrect component selection during a firmware update can cause audio-related problems.

Europe maps 6.36.0

The package contains European navigation maps version 6.36.0, identified by part number 8R0051884KL.

These maps are intended for European HNav systems after installation of the required K0257_6_D1 firmware.

Follow the complete Audi MMI 3G High map update instructions when installing the navigation database.

Map activation included

The required map activation is included in the package.

After installing the firmware and navigation database, complete the activation according to the supplied instructions. A separate activation product is not required.

Green Menu activation script included

This bundle also includes a script for enabling the hidden Green Menu in MMI 3G High.

Green Menu access may be required during preparation, activation or verification of the update. If the menu does not open using the normal button combination, run the supplied activation script first.

Do not change unrelated Green Menu settings. Incorrect changes can affect MMI operation.

You need:

• A computer for downloading and extracting the files
• Suitable SD cards
• An SD card reader
• A stable internet connection

The SD cards must be prepared according to the supplied instructions.

Prepared SD cards

The firmware, maps, activation and Green Menu script are supplied on prepared SD cards.

Follow the included instructions and install each part of the package in the specified order.

Recommended installation order

1. Confirm that the current software train begins with HNav_EU_.
2. Enable Green Menu if access is currently unavailable.
3. Install the HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1 firmware.
4. Install the Europe maps 6.36.0.
5. Run the included map activation.
6. Restart the MMI and verify the firmware and navigation database versions.

Do not install several stages simultaneously. Complete and verify each stage before proceeding to the next one.

Important installation information

Connect the vehicle to a suitable battery charger or power supply before starting.

During the update:

• Do not switch off the ignition or MMI.
• Do not remove the SD card.
• Do not interrupt the installation.
• Follow the correct order of firmware, maps and activation.
• Follow the Bose-specific instructions if the vehicle has a Bose sound system.

The complete process can take a significant amount of time. Plan the installation so the vehicle can remain powered throughout every stage.
