Convert the existing factory wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connection in your Audi into a convenient wireless connection.

Plug the adapter into the correct USB port, pair your smartphone and use CarPlay or Android Auto without connecting the phone with a cable every time you enter the vehicle.

Important compatibility requirement

Your Audi must already have working factory wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

This adapter:

• Converts an existing wired connection to wireless
• Does not activate CarPlay or Android Auto
• Does not add CarPlay or Android Auto to an unsupported MMI
• Does not replace the vehicle’s original USB interface
• Does not require replacement of the factory infotainment system

Before ordering, connect your phone to the Audi using a USB cable and confirm that wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto works correctly.

If the wired function is not currently active, the adapter will not work.

Compatibility depends on the existing smartphone interface and USB port rather than only on the Audi model or production year.

Choose the correct USB version

The product is available for two USB connector types:

USB-A

Choose this version if the factory CarPlay or Android Auto connection uses a standard rectangular USB-A port.

USB-C

Choose this version if the factory connection uses the smaller reversible USB-C port.

Check the connector in the vehicle before placing the order.

Apple CarPlay support

The adapter converts factory wired Apple CarPlay into a wireless connection.

Plug-and-play installation

The adapter does not require permanent modification of the Audi wiring or an additional power connection.

To connect it:

1. Confirm that wired CarPlay or Android Auto works with a USB cable.
2. Plug the adapter into the USB port used by the factory smartphone interface.
3. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the phone.
4. Pair the phone with the adapter.
5. Complete the instructions displayed on the phone and MMI screen.
6. Wait for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto to start.

After the initial pairing, the adapter should reconnect automatically when the vehicle and MMI are started.

Automatic reconnection

After the first successful pairing, the adapter remembers the connected smartphone.

When the vehicle is started, the adapter reconnects automatically and launches wireless CarPlay or Android Auto without requiring the phone to be connected with a cable.

If several previously paired phones are present, the connection may depend on their Bluetooth and Wi-Fi availability.

OTA firmware updates

The adapter supports over-the-air firmware updates.

When an update or reset is required:

1. Connect the phone to the adapter’s Wi-Fi network.
2. Open a compatible web browser.
3. Enter 192.168.50.2 in the browser.
4. Open the update or reset function.
5. Follow the instructions displayed by the adapter.

Do not disconnect the adapter or switch off the MMI while its firmware is being updated.

Does this adapter activate CarPlay or Android Auto?

No. Your Audi must already have working factory wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Will it work if my Audi does not recognise my phone by USB?
